“What to Expect from Friday’s Town Hall Debate” BY LIZZIE MCGUIRE

DEBATELEFT

The Election is coming to an end and the race so far has been neck and neck. On Friday November 2nd, Governor Max Gardner and Senator Julia Panepinto will face off again in the final presidential debate. This will be held in The fireplace lounge for their last opportunity to prove who is the better candidate.  This debate will take form as a town hall meeting where constituents can pose questions.

The key topics that have come out of this campaign surround Education reforms, environmental concerns, Immigration, and Gun control. With the opportunity for constituents to participate, the question possibilities are endless. This is the time for the people to ask what really matters to them providing a crucial outlet for candidates to truly connect with their voting base.

Discussions with the audience after the first debate established the biggest troubles and differences between the candidates are acting abilities and actual political opinions. Panepinto has clearly been confidence in her performance, yet she has been flip floppy in her platforms. On the other hand, Gardner could benefit from being more assertive but what he lacks in confidence he makes up for in clear and well thought out policy plans.

I am excited to see what new things this debate brings to the table. My words of wisdom to the candidates is to come out confident and consistent.
